cancelled for tonight. Apologies for the short notice.

Bring Your Man to Zumba Week!
Valentine’s Day will soon be upon us! Let us celebrate it in a way only the Shok Out (The new Zumba with Becks) family know how: with lots of Fun!
During the entire week beginning 13th February 2012, it will be known as: 'Bring your Man to Zumba Week. Not only that but wouldn’t it be fun to dress up either as a femme fatale or simply in red? So let’s do it!
Tell your man, MILF (Man I’d Like to Fondle) or even your neighbour that he has a date with you. Then pick your most girly red workout gear and strut your stuff in class!
A man and fancy dress is not compulsory, but it will be fun. See
you there!

Our Fabulous Christmas Party!
We had such a great time at our party on Sunday 18th December at The Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield. We sang, we ate, we celebrated and boy did we dance! We had the largest group there, over 80 people bought tickets!
If you missed it, don't worry we will be celebrating Zumba style again next Christmas. However, you won't have to wait that long for the next event as Jodie and I are planning a few social events (at your request).

We Did it!
Our first ever Flashmob was a complete success! There's nothing more to say other than, watch the video!

On Saturday 22nd October Zumba with Becks will be holding a random flash mob in Brindley Place Birmingham City Centre. There is a Chilli festival going on please see http://www.brindleyplace.com/2011/09/a-hot-date-for-your-diary/ for more information. The Cost of the Monthly Membership has been Reduced!
The cost of petrol, food and utilities continue to rise and we have learnt the hard way that generally the phrase 'What goes up, must come down' is an untruth.
Well not when you come to a Zumba with Becks class! In these times of austerity we should all be able to enjoy our 'me' time without thinking too much about the cost. Therefore, from October 2011 onwards the cost of the Monthly Membership has been reduced to £31.50! Bargain! See the above tab (*New* Monthly Membership) for full details!

Zumba with Becks Christmas Party!
On Sunday 18th December start time 6:30pm we are holding the first ever Zumba with Becks Christmas party get together. It's a public event that is being held at Penns Hall, Ramada Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield on Penns Lane. There will be a chrismas buffet and disco so we can dance the night away.
As the event is on a Sunday the cost for the buffet and disco is just £12 per person. If you wish to stay over then it will be £24 for two people without breakfast and £36 for two people with breakfast. You will need to let myself or Jodie Carter know which you are doing when you pay.
We will be booking this event on Thursday 20th October 2011 so if you do want to attend then you will need to have paid by this date.
Be great to see all the Zumba crew there!

Classes at The Barn Social Club
What happened to The Barn?
At present the Barn Social Club is in financial difficulties and they are unsure of their future operations. Therefore all classes at the Barn are being postponed (as of 1st September) until more information is available regarding the start of a new Thursday class. I am working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that this break will be as minimal as possible.

Zumba Troop takes on Birmingham Carnival 2011
On Sunday 7th August members of my classes and a fellow instructor's (Lesley Wright's) joined together to take part in the procession at Birmingham Carnival.
We danced down the streets of Handsworth, Birmingham to tracks such as Mr Vegas' 'I am Blessed' and Pitbull's 'Pause' and wowed the audiences with our sheer love for Zumba.

As always, I am trying something new. See the tab above for the trial of the new monthly memberships - with no silly contracts or tie-in periods! If you plan to come to more than one class a week, this is definitely for you!
Beck's Latest Escapades
This year has seen me officially claim the title 'International Zumba Instructor'.
In Janaury, I travelled to Holland to co-deliver a Zumba class with world-renowned African dance fitness specialist and Zumba Instructor - Mo Diakite.
In May I taught alongside ZES Daniella Cesnekova in Bratislave, Slovakia.
June saw me lead two sessions in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. One as a general fitness class at the Riu Hotel and another for the Vivalasalsa Festival in The Jamaica Grande Hotel.
On 11th June, I presented on stage at the 'Worlds Largest Zumbathon Event' alongside Lindsay Jay (Zumbawear UK) and co in Twickenham, London to thousands of Zumba lovers from all over the country.
In July I shall be joining a plethora of Zumba instructors at the Annual Zumba Convention in Florida. Woo hoo!
As the words to one of my favourite Zumba routines quote: I am truly blessed!

Mo Diakite smashed it!
Mo Diakite delivered a Masterclass the Zumba lovers of Birmingham will remember for years to come! I will be writing more about this very soon and posting pictures. All I will say for now is that if you missed it, you really missed out!
